Why hand tied sits flatter
A hand tied weft has no machine seam running through it, so the return is thinner and the row lies closer to the head. That matters most on fine hair and on anyone who wears it up, where a thicker seam telegraphs through.
Working out how much you need
A client wears anywhere from 1 to 3 rows, and each row typically takes 2 to 5 hand tied wefts, stacked. Each weft is a fixed 16.9 grams, so the count for a head is simple once you know the rows. Hand tied wefts are never cut, so you choose how many to stack rather than trimming one to fit.

What is the difference between hand tied and machine wefts?
A hand tied weft is tied by hand and has no machine seam running through the return, so it is thinner and lies flatter against the head than a machine weft. That makes it better suited to fine hair and to clients who wear their hair up, at the cost of taking more rows and wefts to build the same volume.
Can hand tied wefts be cut?
No. A hand tied weft has no machine stitching holding the base together, so a cut weft unravels over time and with washing, even when the end is glued. When a row needs a custom width, a hybrid weft is the one to cut.
