McKenzies Modern Locks Inc, doing business as Wefts and Waves Hair Extensions ("Wefts + Waves", "we", "us", "our") sells professional hair extensions, tools and education to licensed hairstylists and cosmetology students through https://www.weftsandwaves.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us:

Account details: name, email address, phone number, password, and professional details such as your salon and license or school information when you apply for a pro account.
Order details: shipping and billing address, the products you buy and your order history. Payments are handled by our payment processors; we do not receive or store your full card number.
Education details: your course enrollment, progress, quiz results and class registrations, and the address we mail your kit to.
Stylist finder profile: if you choose to list yourself as a certified stylist, the profile details you submit, such as your name, salon, city, bio, photo and booking or social links.
Messages: what you send us by email, text message, our chat widget or our forms, and any reviews you leave.

Information collected automatically when you use the Site or open our emails:

Device and usage data such as your browser, device type, approximate location from your IP address, pages viewed, links clicked and the website or ad that referred you, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Whether you opened our emails and which links in them you clicked.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your account and verify that pro accounts belong to licensed professionals or students.
To process, ship and support your orders, returns and warranty requests.
To provide courses and classes, mail kits, review your work and issue certifications.
To publish your stylist finder profile, if you ask us to.
To answer your questions and send messages about your orders, account and classes.
To send you news and offers by email if you have agreed to receive them or are an existing customer, and to ask for reviews. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
To understand how the Site is used, measure and improve our advertising, and show you relevant ads on other sites.
To prevent fraud, secure the Site and meet our legal obligations.

3. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies on the Site. These include:

Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site. We have enabled Google signals and Google Analytics advertising features, including demographics and interests reporting, which use data from Google accounts of signed in users who have turned on ads personalization.
Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing, to measure the results of our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited the Site when they browse other websites. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your past visits to the Site.
Our website platform (Wix) and its chat feature, which use cookies needed to run the store, your cart, your login and the chat.

Your choices: you can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at https://adssettings.google.com, opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and opt out of interest based ads from many companies at https://optout.aboutads.info. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the Site, such as the cart and login, may not work without them. The Site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

4. Text messages (SMS)

If you text us, we use your phone number only to reply to you in that conversation about your question, order or class. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, and HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Sharing with service providers that help us deliver our text messages, such as our messaging provider, is permitted only to provide that service.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only:

With service providers who help us run the business, such as our website and store platform, payment processors, shipping carriers, email, text messaging and chat providers, analytics and advertising providers, and the agency that helps us with marketing. They may use it only to provide their services to us.
Publicly, for stylist finder profiles you ask us to publish.
When required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.

6. Your privacy rights

You can view and update most account details by logging in. You can also ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for targeted advertising, by emailing support@weftsandwaves.com. Depending on where you live, such as California or another state with a privacy law, or the UK or European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to appeal our decision or complain to a regulator. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, we process your information to perform our contract with you, with your consent, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business. Your information may be processed in the United States.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, keep business and tax records, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, then delete or anonymize it.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no website or transmission over the internet is completely secure.

9. Children

The Site is intended for professionals and cosmetology students and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new date, and where the changes are significant we will tell you by email or on the Site.
