The biggest difference: cutting
You can't cut a hand tied weft anywhere along the base. You can cut a hybrid. So hand tied goes in whole, and hybrid gets cut to fit the row.
Weight: three to one
A hand tied weft weighs about 17 grams (16.9 grams), and a hybrid weft about 50 grams. So three hand tied wefts equal one hybrid.
Which suits how you work
If you like to customize and mix and match lots of different colors, a hand tied weft may be better, because you are working with smaller wefts. If you like to cut things up into different sizes, a hybrid weft might be your go-to.

I'm at the office today to answer a very commonly asked question. What is the difference between a hand-tied weft and a hybrid weft? For starters, and one of the most important things to note, is that hand-tied wefts cannot be cut anywhere along the base, but hybrid wefts can. A hand-tied weft weighs approximately 17 grams, whereas a hybrid weighs about 50. So three of these is equal to one of these. If you're trying to decide which one is better, at the end of the day it just comes down to preference and lifestyle.
